Kundalini yoga classes are a dynamic blend of postures, pranayama, mantra, music and meditation, which teach the art of relaxation, self-healing and elevation. Balancing body and mind enables you to experience the clarity and beauty of your soul.
Kundalini is considered the most comprehensive of yoga practices “Kundalini” literally means “the curl of the lock of hair of the beloved.” This poetic metaphor alludes to the flow of energy and consciousness that exists within each of us, and enables us to merge with – or “yoke” – the universal Self. Fusing individual and universal consciousness creates a divine union, called “yoga.” The Upanishads, Hindu’s sacred scriptures that date back to the fifth century B.C., describe Kundalini, although the oral tradition reaches back even further into history. For thousands of years, this sacred science and technology was veiled in secrecy, passed along verbally from master to chosen disciple.
Angles and triangles are what make Kundalini Yoga so effective. The use of angles in Kundalini Yoga postures, in combination with pranayama, mantras and mudras, is one of the main reasons that Kundalini Yoga works as quickly as it does. The angles put pressure on the glands to secrete. When a posture is released and the body is still, the glandular secretions that have been stimulated have an opportunity to circulate freely. The result is a balanced glandular system that has a definitive effect on emotional stability through the chemistry of one’s body. . Yogi Bhajan broke a long-held tradition of silence. A master of Kundalini by the age of 16 – itself a rare feat – he gave his first lecture at a Los Angeles high school gym on January 5, 1969. Then a 39-year-old recent émigré from India, he had left behind a lucrative governmental career with the vision of bringing Yoga to the West.
Kundalini Yoga contains the elements of all forms of Yoga; Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga, Shakti, Tantra, Raj, etc.

It is the most powerful form of yoga; the exercises and meditations in Kundalini Yoga help purify, stimulate and strengthen all the systems of the body by unlocking your inner, creative energy to get the most out of life.

Kundalini Yoga uses prescribed sets of exercises (kriyas), which focus upon specific areas of the body. It is taught in its pure and complete form.

Powerful breathing is fundamental to Kundalini yoga. Effective breath control oxygenates the entire body, clearing the mind, strengthening the immune system, detoxifying and vitalizing the body, improving digestion, balancing the two hemispheres of the brain and releasing fears, insecurities, irritability, depression and emotional blocks. A healthy body and peaceful mind can help us to remain happy whatever our personal circumstances.
‘Kundalini yoga is the Master science of experience and awareness. It is a transmission of consciousness from person to person. It is a Raj yoga that awakens you inside. That is the basic difference...’ Yogi Bhajan.
