Welcome to SCAR.

SCAR stands for Skibbereen Charity Adventure Race.

Our multi-discipline adventure race takes place on Saturday, October 21st 2017, in and around the breathtaking beauty and rugged environs of Skibbereen, Castletownshend, Union Hall, Lough Hyne, and Baltimore, taking in most of the wild Atlantic coastline that defines this stunning part of West Cork and Ireland in the form of Road Biking, Trail Running, and Sea Kayaking.

However, there is one important factor that differentiates SCAR from most other similar events:-
SCAR is managed by a special event team on behalf of Skibbereen Lions Club and is a “NOT FOR PROFIT” event.
This means 100% of your race entry fee will be donated to local charities and good causes in the area.
But don't let this fact lull you into a false sense that this will be an easy day out. Far from it.....

SCAR will deliver beginners, intermediates and expert racers a serious challenge through three different courses, that will test and push you to complete, whilst competing in a professionally organised and truly memorable race in this unique part of south west Ireland.
