O'Maille's was founded in 1938 by Padraic O'Maille and his brothers Sean, Stiofain and their sister, Maire. Today the store is still located in Galway city and continues to be one of Ireland's leading retailers providing woollen and tweed clothing for men and women. The store is now owned by Anne and Ger O'Maille who are devoted to the preservation of Aran knitting and Irish craft. More than 100 hand knitters create the Aran sweaters sold in the shop. Hand woven and crocheted items can also be found in the store. You will also find wares from many new Irish designers and the store features the best of the old traditions and the new. Visitors can look forward to a warm welcome and personal service from the owners.
