With 15 years industry experience, I recently decided to take the plunge and set up my own practice in a purpose built clinic alongside my home in Anglesboro (located 5 mins from Mitchelstown).
Originally from Clonlara Co Clare, I have been living in Anglesboro with her husband John and four children for more than ten years.
I qualified as a physical therapist in 1999 at the Dublin Institute of Physical Therapy and I am an active member of the Irish Association of Physical Therapists.
I was lead therapist with the limerick Senior football team; the victorious UL team who won the Fitzgibbon Cup; the Ahane team who during my tenure won 2 senior county hurling titles and I continue to help local clubs and organisations on a daily basis.
Prior to launching my own practice I worked for East Limerick Children's service implementing individual exercise programmes for children of varying abilities to great success.
Like many therapists, I see the potential for injury or strain in everyday life and across all professions and this is something which prompted me to set up my practice. I love seeing a noticeable change in patients when a persistent pain is relieved or when I can implement an specific rehabilitation programme to alleviate a strain from an everyday activity.
My clients range across all age groups and varying levels of fitness and activity. I treat senior citizens, farmers, sedentary and highly mobile workers and more. All are just as likely to develop a strain or injury as someone out in a sports field.
I also understand the demands on people and to accommodate clients will be available for appointments outside normal business hours in the evenings or at the weekends.
I will develop a programme specific to each patient. In addition to working one-on-one with my patients at my clinic, I will provide a detailed rehabilitation schedule so patients can work at home also to progress their recovery at a much faster pace. I use a mixture of therapies and approaches to ensure that the overall health of a person is treated.
.
I am continually undergoing courses and programmes to enhance my education so that I can provide the highest standard of care to my clients.
I will also be putting tips and advice on her Facebook page so stay tuned and a website will be launching in the near future.
Please call me at 087 436 3954 for an appointment.
Please note also, will proviide any strapping of injuries prior to activity/games for all sports enthusiasts.
