Golden Shears Ireland 4.37

The 16th Golden Shears World Sheep Shearing & Wool Handling Championships take place in the beautiful coastal town of Gorey, County Wexford, Ireland from 17th May to 25th May 2014.
The venue for the Championships is a 25 acre site on the outskirts of town, adjacent to the Amber Springs Hotel, part of the Redmond Hotel Group. It is ideally located, one hour from Dublin and easily accessible by road, bus and train.
With over 25,000 visitors expected and a family-orientated festival of food, crafts, fashion and entertainment running in tandem with the main shearing competitions, the Golden Shears has something for everybody.
Top names from over 30 countries, including New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, Canada, U.S.A., Norway, Sweden, Germany and the U.K. will compete for the coveted Golden Shears Title. Donegal’s Ivan Scott, four times All Ireland Winner and current World Record holder, will no doubt be in contention for a top spot.
