Birr Churches Together 1.86

Birr Churches Together is an ecumenical endeavour between the Methodist, Church of Ireland, and Catholic churches in Birr, County Offaly. It seeks to build on the positive history of relationship and interaction between the churches in Birr, to engage the congregations in shared projects and activities. Supported by the Irish School of Ecumenics of Trinity College, Dublin, it takes the Lund Principle as its guideline. This principle states that Christian churches should act together in all matters except where deep differences of conviction compel them to act separately. We hope that Birr Churches Together can be an example and a guide for other communities who hope to strengthen their ecumenical relationships.
